Losing a $40 Million Listing

On the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan lies the largest log cabin in the world. It is 26,000 sq feet built in 1923 during the times of the tycoons for $5 million. That would be over $70 million today! This cabin sits on 8 square miles including 3.7 miles of private shoreline.

After listing this beautiful cabin for $40 million with no offers, the seller fired his Realtor and cut the sales price in half. If this Realtor would have hired a professional stager, this home would have sold for asking price. The fee for the stager would have been thousands of dollars for a house that size. The staging fee would have saved the multi million dollar commission for the Realtor and the home owner $20 million!

Can you tell why it didn't sell?
